What makes it worth considering is the AA-1200’s appeal as a hefty, unusual receiver: dual power supplies, strong output, and that classic Akai build that tends to draw collectors as well as listeners. If it’s genuinely excellent, with clean cosmetics, all lamps and controls sorted, and no channel imbalance or protection issues, you’re paying for a premium example rather than just the model. At €950, I’d want proof of recent service and fully documented functionality.
