This is an ambitious ask. At US$299, it sits well above the recent used median of US$195 and even past the 75th percentile of US$247, so I’d only call it compelling if the condition is truly excellent and the seller is bundling something useful. For a small DAC, that’s enough of a premium that buyers should expect a particularly clean unit, original packaging, or some other clear value-add.
That said, the Modi 3 is well regarded for being a simple, neutral, low-fuss DAC that gets out of the way and plays nicely in modest systems. If you need a compact USB DAC and this one is genuinely spotless, there’s still upside in its reputation and ease of use, but at this price I’d want to compare against fresher listings or be sure the included accessories and condition justify the premium.
