US$299 is a strong buy for a Jotunheim 2 with the phono module. New, this amp was US$399 before options, and the phono version was typically US$499 new, so this sits well below normal new pricing and looks attractive versus the usual used market for Schiit’s balanced desktop amps.
What makes it worthwhile is the Jotunheim 2’s real drive and versatility: plenty of power for demanding headphones, clean balanced and single-ended use, and a genuinely useful preamp role. The phono stage adds nice vinyl value if you’ll use it. At this price, I’d mainly confirm the module is functioning, ask whether the original box and power supply are included, and verify there’s no scratchy pot or input/output issue.
