About Bricasti Design

Bricasti Design emerged in 2004 from Shirley, Massachusetts, blending New England precision with an Italian-inspired name derived from founders Brian Zolner and Casey Dowdell. Both veterans of Lexicon and Madrigal Labs—where Dowdell honed digital expertise and Zolner led engineering—the duo launched the company initially as a pro-audio specialist, crafting revered digital reverbs in a historic brick mill. Over two decades, this heritage has shaped a brand synonymous with meticulous, hand-built electronics that bridge studio rigor and home listening.

The lineup centers on high-caliber digital and analog components, with the flagship M1 DAC series establishing its reputation for transparency and musicality. Offerings span DACs like the M3 and M21, SACD transports such as the M19, monoblock amplifiers including the M28, and integrated solutions, all prioritizing proprietary conversion, low-noise power supplies, and versatile interfaces for PCM and DSD. Absent are speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables—Bricasti hones a focused arsenal for discerning digital playback and amplification.

Positioned firmly in the high-end boutique realm, Bricasti commands respect among audiophiles and professionals for its no-compromise engineering and restrained aesthetics. Priced from $12,000 for top DACs, it appeals to buyers seeking studio-grade purity in consumer hi-fi, earning consistent acclaim in elite circles without chasing mass-market volume.
