This is an earlier-generation flagship DAC, so timing only matters in the sense that newer EMM/Meitner boxes exist; that said, the DV2 still has a strong reputation and €14,900 is well into attractive territory versus its €30,000 launch price. For a unit in good condition, this looks like a solid buy rather than an ambitious ask.
What keeps it desirable is the combination of very refined, smooth-but-detailed sound, excellent timing, and a genuinely usable preamp section with high-end volume control. It’s the kind of DAC that still hangs with serious modern digital. If it includes the remote, original packaging, and a clean service history, that only strengthens the case; otherwise, just confirm all inputs and outputs work as expected.
