This looks like a strong buy-in if you want a project deck: at €50, it’s cheap enough that even a partial restore can make sense, and for a late-1970s Technics 3-head-era machine that is a very low ask. The RS-615US is an older, desirable vintage cassette deck, and listings for functioning or restored examples tend to sit noticeably higher than €50, so the price is clearly on the bargain end for for_parts.
What makes it worthwhile is the appeal of an early Technics deck: solid Japanese build, classic styling, and the kind of straightforward mechanical design that enthusiasts like to bring back. The upside is best if the transport is complete and the cosmetics are decent, since belts, idlers, lamps, and cleanup are normal age-related work on decks like this. At this price, though, those are acceptable project risks rather than dealbreakers.
