That doesn’t make it unserious, but it does mean you’re paying a premium that should be justified by exceptional condition, a desirable cartridge, or worthwhile upgrades.
The reason people keep chasing Planar 3s is simple: they’re fast, rhythmic, easy to live with, and a solid step-up table that can stay satisfying for years. If this one is truly clean and comes with a good arm/cartridge setup, there’s real upside in convenience and performance. Still, at this price I’d want clear photos, confirmation of included accessories, and some evidence it’s been cared for well enough to earn the premium.
