This is ambitious at A$2,300 versus the recent comparable used market, which centers around a A$1,869 median with a A$1,643 25th percentile and A$2,095 75th percentile; it’s clearly above the top quartile, so I’d want something extra to justify it. For a buyer, that means you’re paying a premium unless the unit is especially clean, well-documented, and complete.
The upside is that this DAC line is well regarded for its smooth, natural presentation, strong resolution, and very listenable R2R-style sound that makes it a favorite for long sessions. If it’s in truly tidy condition with box, remote, and original accessories, it can still be a worthwhile buy for someone who wants to stay put with a serious, musical converter—but at this price, I’d only jump if the condition and inclusions are genuinely strong.
