At €1,350, this sits just under the €1,414 25th percentile and comfortably below the €1,452 median for recent comparable listings, so it reads as a strong deal rather than merely fair. It is not a deep outlier bargain, but it is priced well enough to get serious attention before a cleaner example disappears.
That makes sense for a well-regarded cable in this class: Transparent’s upper-tier interconnects are valued for a quiet background, strong resolution, and a polished, low-fatigue presentation that can suit revealing systems. With the condition described as excellent, the upside is simple—you're buying into a respected piece of kit at a price that leaves some room versus the typical market, with no obvious condition penalty if the term “excellent” is accurate.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Transparent Audio was founded in 1980 in Saco, Maine, by audio enthusiasts Jack Sumner, Karen Sumner, and Carl Smith, who initially distributed high-end products like the Norwegian Electrocompaniet amplifiers and the iconic Well Tempered Turntable. Evolving from distribution, the company entered manufacturing in the mid-1980s, first with MIT cables before launching its own innovative line in 1993. This heritage of passion-driven innovation has defined Transparent as a pioneer in audio connectivity, with breakthroughs like patented network technology, unique cable geometries, and system-specific calibration introduced in the 1990s.
The brand focuses exclusively on premium cables and related components, including interconnects, loudspeaker cables, digital audio cables, HDMI cables, AC power cords, and power conditioners. Transparent eschews amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs, or headphones, concentrating instead on transmission solutions that minimize signal distortion and maximize sonic transparency. Their Reference line, debuted in 1994, established this niche, bolstered by ongoing refinements and an owner-friendly upgrade program.
Positioned firmly in the high-end audiophile market, Transparent commands respect among discerning buyers and professionals for delivering pristine, nuanced sound reproduction in world-class systems. Decades of awards, relentless R&D, and a reputation for pushing cable technology boundaries cement its status as a leader, where cables are treated as equals to components themselves.
