Seller's Description

Once Analog Mk II Record Player Turntable The time has come to part with my beloved Once Analog Mk. II turntable. I purchased this at the end of 2013 from Stereonet forum member Mendo, who I also purchased an Audio Origami PU7 tonearm from (also listed for sale). Vince Hamilton, owner and creator of Once Analog generously upgraded the motor controller to the latest spec, and performed a service before driving this up to deliver to me in Brisbane, such was his passion and generosity. This very table was the one used by Greg Borrowman for his review in Australian Hi-Fi. It’s in great condition,

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$2,500, this sits below the A$2,744 25th percentile and well under the A$2,952 median for recent AUD comparables, so it reads as a strong deal rather than a merely fair one. Against that market anchor, the asking price leaves room for a bit of servicing or setup without drifting into overpay territory.

That makes it the kind of listing worth a serious look if the deck is complete and the arm, motor, and suspension are behaving properly. Audio Origami’s work is generally prized for careful setup and musical, low-drama performance, so a clean example can be very satisfying to live with. At this price, the main upside is getting into a higher-end turntable platform without paying median market money.

About Audio Origami

Audio Origami traces its roots to Scotland, emerging from the storied Syrinx brand with over two decades of dedicated engineering in tonearm design. This British boutique operation, now under owner Stephen Cosh following its acquisition from J7, upholds a heritage of precision craftsmanship from its Scottish workshop, where audiophiles and engineers refine analog playback components for the most discerning vinyl enthusiasts.

The brand focuses exclusively on high-performance tonearms, with flagship models like the PU8 and PU7 GTS standing as its core offerings. These incorporate advanced features such as M.M.A.D.S.—a suspended tunnel system that floats internal cabling on ultra-thin, vibration-rejecting flanges—delivering exceptional clarity, lowered noise floors, and uncolored sound without the dulling effects of traditional damping materials.

Positioned as a niche high-end specialist, Audio Origami commands respect among serious vinyl collectors for pushing tonearm boundaries through cutting-edge materials and innovative engineering. Far from mass-market fare, it caters to those seeking ultimate cartridge optimization and authentic analog reproduction, earning acclaim as a maker of the world's finest tonearms in a crowded hi-fi landscape.
