Compared with buying a newer floorstander at this money, A$2,400 for these is on the ambitious side versus the local used benchmark: above the A$2,400 75th percentile, and well over the A$1,781 median. That doesn’t make it wrong, but it does mean you’re paying top-of-market pricing rather than getting a bargain.
The upside is that these are classic, highly regarded monitors with superb midrange clarity, fast bass, and the kind of revealing presentation that still embarrasses a lot of modern speakers. In very good condition, they’re worth serious consideration if the tweeters and mids are original and healthy, the cabinets are clean, and both speakers are matched. For this price, I’d want proof of proper driver condition and no refoam or repair issues.
