Die Oberon 1 für sich genommen sind lebendige, präzise Lautsprecher, die ihren Preis regelmäßig Lügen strafen. Der Hochton ist klar und angenehm, ohne jede Färbung, und die Bühne ist beeindruckend offen — der 29-mm-Hochtöner mit ultraleichter Kalotte reicht bis zu 26 kHz, weit über viele Konkurrenten hinaus. Sie klingen kraftvoll und brillieren besonders bei Stimmen, mit einem feinen, unkomplizierten Charakter, wobei ein 5-Zoll-Treiber naturgemäß nicht die tiefsten Bassfrequenzen erreichen kann.
Der Sub C-8D schließt genau diese Lücke — und das auf sehr typische DALI-Art. Er klingt melodisch und kann durchaus laut werden, doch der Papierkonusträger lässt den Bass wie einen natürlichen Teil der Musik wirken, nicht wie ein aufgesetztes Element — man hört die verschiedenen Texturen einer Bassgitarre heraus, statt nur ein eintöniges Brummen zu vernehmen. Er liefert tiefen, aber straffen Bass, ohne den Hauptklang zu überlagern, und fügt echte Tiefe und Wärme hinzu, ohne den Charakter der Hauptlautsprecher zu beeinträchtigen.
Gemeinsam ergibt die Kombination einen kohärenten, vollständigen Klang, der die charakteristischen Qualitäten der Oberon 1 bewahrt — die schnelle, detailreiche, stimmenzentrierte Wiedergabe — und sie mit einem soliden Fundament im Tieftonbereich untermauert. Der Sub C-8D wurde entwickelt, um gleichermaßen gut mit Musik und Filmen zu funktionieren, und wird ausdrücklich als ideale Ergänzung zur Oberon-Serie empfohlen.
Compared with the usual hunt for a new budget sub at this money, €370 is firmly ambitious for a used piece here: recent comparable listings center on €224, with the lower quartile at €150 and the upper quartile at €298. That means this asks a meaningful premium over the typical market, so it only makes sense if the condition is truly exceptional and the buyer specifically wants this model.
The upside is that these are well-liked for giving a compact system real low-end weight without turning sloppy, especially in music-first setups where control matters more than brute output. If the unit is genuinely excellent, with clean cosmetic condition and a healthy amp/driver, it can still be a satisfying buy—but at this price, I’d want proof of careful ownership, full functionality, and no hidden subwoofer-age surprises before committing.
