Seller's Description

Audio-Technica ATVMN95SH MM Phono Cartridge Phono Cartridge (MM) Bought this AT VM95SH (shibata stylus) while undecided on whether or not to get my MC canter lever repaired which I did. I never used it but if recall correctly it had only minimal hrs of use maybe 6 but didnt gel with the persons set up.  I don't have any packaging and the stylus gaurd is MIA. It will come in solid plastic cube as in the photo. Given the very low hours it will need time to loosen up canter lever ect just as if it is a new one. Condition: Excellent Payment Method: EFT Region/State: (VIC) Victoria/Australia By Joh

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a buyer’s market for this cartridge class: at A$160, it sits well below the A$277 median and even under the A$148 25th percentile it’s close enough to read as a strong-value buy rather than a stretched one. For an MM cartridge, that makes the asking price genuinely attractive in today’s used market.

The attraction here is straightforward: this line is widely liked for its lively, detailed presentation and the Shibata stylus profile is the real draw if you want cleaner tracing and better inner-groove performance than basic elliptical tips. In excellent condition, the upside is solid if the stylus is genuinely healthy and the cantilever is straight; if it comes with the original stylus guard, packaging, or low hours, that adds confidence.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Audio-Technica

Founded in 1962 in Tokyo's Shinjuku district by Hideo Matsushita, Audio-Technica began as a phonograph cartridge specialist, launching the innovative AT-1 moving-magnet model with a diamond-tipped cantilever that revolutionized affordable high-fidelity playback. Starting with just three employees in a rented house and one million yen in capital, the company quickly expanded, supplying cartridges to Japanese audio manufacturers and relocating as demand surged. This heritage of precision engineering and democratic access to superior sound defines its enduring Japanese craftsmanship.

Audio-Technica has broadened far beyond cartridges into a comprehensive lineup of hi-fi essentials, excelling in headphones, professional microphones, turntables, and phonographic styli. While not heavily focused on amplifiers, speakers, or DACs, it produces elite receivers, wireless systems, and cables, alongside OEM transducers and sensors for pro audio. Its turntables and headphones span entry-level to audiophile grades, with Bluetooth and noise-cancelling models bridging consumer and studio needs.

Renowned for delivering exceptional value through durable, innovative design, Audio-Technica occupies a solid mid-tier position in the hi-fi market, prized by enthusiasts for reliability without extravagant pricing. It garners consistent awards for performance and builds trust via Olympic-grade microphones and global subsidiaries, appealing to discerning buyers seeking proven engineering over boutique exclusivity.
