About Armstrong Audio

Armstrong Audio traces its origins to 1932, when Claude Charles (C.C.) Jackson founded Armstrong Wireless & Television Ltd. in Camden, London. Initially producing public address systems, radios, and televisions—including equipment supplied during World War II—the company rode the hi-fi wave of the 1950s with its acclaimed "High Fidelity Sound" range of amplifiers and receivers. These products epitomized the golden age of British audio engineering, blending robust chassis designs with consumer tuners and amplifiers through the 1960s and 1970s, notably in the 500 and 600 series.

As manufacturing waned by the late 1970s, Armstrong pivoted to servicing and restoration, rebranding as Armstrong Hi-Fi & Video Services Ltd. and relocating to Walthamstow. In 2017, it recommitted to its audio heritage, leveraging over 45 years of expertise in repairing mid-range, high-end, studio-grade, and audiophile gear. This evolution fused traditional craftsmanship with modern precision, reviving both vintage and contemporary components.

Today, Armstrong occupies a niche as a respected vintage specialist and restorer in the British hi-fi market, cherished by collectors and enthusiasts for its deep technical legacy. Far from mass-market production, it appeals to discerning buyers seeking authentic, battle-tested sound reproduction rooted in mid-20th-century excellence.
