A$260 is below the old A$649 retail and sits in a sensible used zone for an RP1, so this reads as a fair-to-good buy rather than a stretch. For a clean very good example, that’s close enough to market that the price feels reasonable without being a steal.
The RP1 is still a respected entry-level Rega: simple, manual, low-fuss, and usually valued for timing, pace, and a lively presentation that makes vinyl feel engaging rather than clinical. At this price, the upside is best if it’s complete with the original PSU, belt, platter mat, and a healthy cartridge; if any of those are missing or worn, the value drops quickly.
