Overview

Einstein's goal when designing The Turntable's Choice wasn't to convey warmth, resolution, tone or any other typical sonic describer. The design brief was to minimizes any impact whatsoever on the music signal.

A true moving coil (MC) only phono amplifier, with two separate outboard power supplies feeding a fully discrete (24 hand selected single-transistors) amplifier section. The high gain, high signal to noise ratio design of this phono amplifier allows low output moving coil cartridges to really open up and sing. It will still work well with high output cartridges. The low impedance output stage and high power reserve allow long interconnects to be used without seriously degrading the signal.

The Turntable’s Choice chassis is also engineered to minimizes resonances and microphonic effects. The tube-shaped chassis allows for extremely short signal paths, which also aid the sonic qualities especially at such low voltage.

About Einstein

Einstein Audio Components: Brand Overview

Einstein Audio Components was founded in 1988 in Bochum, Germany, by Volker Bohlmeier and Rolf Weiler, two audio specialists united by a shared vision of delivering the highest fidelity music playback. The company name itself reflects a clever play on Bohlmeier's surname and the famous physicist. After three years of meticulous development, Einstein introduced "The Amp" in 1990, an innovative solid-state integrated amplifier that immediately established the brand as a serious contender in high-end audio. The amplifier's purist design and exceptional sound quality earned widespread critical acclaim and numerous industry awards, becoming an instant classic that remains recognized among leading audio publications.

Einstein's product portfolio centers on premium amplification and signal processing components, with particular expertise in both tube and solid-state technologies. Beyond "The Amp," the company has developed acclaimed products including "The Tube" preamplifier (introduced in 1998) and "The Final Cut," a pair of tube monoblock power amplifiers released in 2002. The brand also manufactures cables and accessories, maintaining the same rigorous sonic standards applied to their primary components. Each device is handcrafted as a single unit and subjected to exhaustive testing until it meets Einstein's exacting acoustic specifications.

Einstein occupies a distinctly boutique position within the high-end audio market, representing the pinnacle of niche luxury manufacturing. The company's unwavering commitment to sonic purity over market trends, combined with its distinctive visual design language and meticulous German engineering, has cultivated a devoted following among audio connoisseurs worldwide. Einstein remains a small, independently operated manufacturer where sound quality alone determines component selection, positioning the brand firmly in the elite tier of audiophile equipment.
