Die Schalter zur Auswahl der Quelle (AUX, FM, AM, Phono, etc Rasten nicht ein, weitere defekte nicht ausgeschlossen!!
Wurde sonst nicht weiter getestet!
Nur grob gereinigt!

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The Pioneer SX-838 is a respected vintage stereo receiver known for its clean 50W per channel output and classic analog tuning, but this listing is misidentified as an AV Receiver and priced for parts at €250 EUR. Compared to the typical used market for a working unit—where the median asking price is €750 EUR, with the 25th percentile at €640 EUR—this €250 EUR parts price is drastically below even the lowest functional comparable, making it a strong bargain if you specifically need a parts source or can restore it.

If the unit is salvageable, the SX-838 offers genuine vintage hi-fi value with low distortion (0.3% THD) and robust continuous RMS power, appealing to enthusiasts who appreciate original analog receivers over modern digital gear. The main caveat is the “parts only” condition and the mislabeling as an AV Receiver, which suggests the seller may not know the model’s true nature; however, at €250 EUR, the risk is minimal, and this could be an excellent entry into vintage Pioneer if you’re willing to troubleshoot or use it for parts.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Pioneer

Pioneer traces its roots to 1937 in Tokyo, Japan, when founder Nozomu Matsumoto, inspired by the thrill of imported hi-fi speakers, developed the A-8 dynamic speaker and launched a radio and speaker repair shop. The business formalized as Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho in 1938, evolving into Pioneer Corporation and embodying Matsumoto's philosophy of "Move the Heart and Touch the Soul" through audio innovation.

The brand excels across diverse hi-fi categories, pioneering Japan's first headphones in 1960 with the SE-1 and the world's first component-based stereo system in 1965 via the PSC-5A. Pioneer's portfolio spans amplifiers, speakers, turntables, and DACs, alongside landmark car audio advancements like the 1975 Supertuner-equipped stereo and the 1986 in-car CD player, blending home and automotive excellence.

Today, Pioneer holds a commanding mid-to-high-tier position in the market, revered for reliable, performance-driven gear that balances premium quality with accessibility. Its vintage components attract collectors, while current offerings appeal to discerning buyers seeking robust, innovative sound reproduction without boutique excess.
