Anthem MRX 520 AV Receiver Up for sale is my Anthem MRX 520 receiver. The third generation receiver from famed audiophile company Anthem. It is a 5.2 receiver pre-outs and all the usual inputs and outputs. It has more than enough power for any sane use. Full details here: https://www.anthemav.com/products-archived/series=mrx-series-gen3/model=mrx-520/page=overview The best thing about it (IMHO) is that it uses the best (also IMHO) room correction available, namely ARC. I prefer it to Dirac, Trinnov and XT32. The receiver is in great condition. I mostly used it as a prepro with my active speake
# Anthem ARC-1 at AUD 600 – Buyer Notes
The Anthem ARC-1 is a room-correction processor that typically trades in the AUD 700–900 range used, depending on condition and completeness. At AUD 600, this is a solid entry point—assuming the unit powers on and the calibration mic is included. If it's fully functional with documentation, you're looking at fair value or slightly better. Missing the mic or showing age-related issues (capacitor drift, calibration software incompatibility) would make this less attractive.
Before committing, verify the software license is transferable to your account and test the USB connection and mic input thoroughly. The ARC-1 is now over a decade old, so confirm it still communicates with current room-measurement software on your PC or Mac. Ask the seller for proof of recent use and whether any internal servicing has been done. Check for any display dimming or channel imbalance during a demo run—early units can develop channel-specific drift over time.

Anthem traces its roots to the 1990s in Canada, emerging from the acclaimed Sonic Frontiers, a brand celebrated for its no-compromise high-fidelity components crafted by dedicated engineers and audiophiles. In 1998, Paradigm acquired Sonic Frontiers, including Anthem, marking a pivotal shift toward innovative home theater electronics while preserving the pursuit of pure, unadulterated sound. This heritage of passion fused with scientific precision defines Anthem's enduring Canadian legacy.
The brand excels in premium amplification and processing, renowned for AV receivers like the MRX series, high-end processors such as the AVM line, and MCA power amplifiers. These products integrate proprietary technologies, including Anthem Room Correction (ARC), the pioneering room optimization system born from advanced research. While not venturing into speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables, Anthem's focus on electronics delivers reference-level performance tailored for discerning home theater and hi-fi setups.
Anthem holds a commanding position in the high-end market, topping charts as the leading brand for home theater preamps/processors with 30% share and ranking fourth in AV receivers at 31%. Repurchased in 2019 by Paradigm co-founder Scott Bagby and his brother John, restoring original stewardship, Anthem embodies premium Canadian engineering—reliable, innovative, and free of excess—for knowledgeable buyers seeking world-class audio without compromise.
