These are, to my ears, the best closed back cans on the market still. They do need a decent amplifier to drive them, otherwise they can sound a little lacking in the bass department. The timing is fine here: the Stealth is still a current-reference-level planar and not a replaced-out relic, so the main question is price, not age. At A$3,700, this sits a touch above your A$3,657 75th percentile, so it reads as slightly ambitious rather than a bargain, though not wildly off-market for a clean example.
That said, it’s a genuinely well-regarded buy if you want top-tier isolation, very low distortion, and a compact closed-back that does technical performance unusually well. The upside is strongest when the set is complete and lightly used; if it includes the hard case, cable, and pads in good shape, the premium becomes easier to justify. I’d call it worth pursuing, but only if condition and accessories are strong enough to support the ask.
