VPI TNT Series 4 Turntable with JMW Memorial Tonearm and Grado 'The Reference' MM Cartridge. In excellent condition- has been very well cared for and shows very little use. Also includes a heavy stone base, VPI Turntable Power Line Conditioner (that allows variable speed and 33/45 rpm operation with the single speed AC synchronous motor), VPI motor cover and Pulley Drive Unit (pictured separately- fits through holes in the turntable base and allows the belt to contact the platter at 3 evenly spaced points. Belts for this option are included but I did not set up the unit for my photos)The cartridge appears to be a Master 1 Reference model, although the packaging and cartridge itself have no model numbers. I found what I believe to be a matching photo from a dealer online called LP Tunes where a new one sells for $1000.Please note that TNT turntables were designed for interchangeability of components with newer designs. There are multiple platters and drive systems that will fit this turntable. This Series 4 may have some variations from the stock Series 4's, but I'm not an expert on these tables so please go by the pictures. Also please note that while these are built to be very stable once set up, it does require some effort and turntable knowledge to set it up properly.See photos for everything included. Also includes a VPI instruction manual and a Shure stylus pressure gauge. I'm selling this for local pickup only, because I want the buyer to be able to see and hear that it is functioning properly (I have a temporary lashup using B&W wired headphones), and shipping this with the tonearm and cartridge installed would be risky at best. I do have the original VPI packaging for transport to your home. The TT box will need to remain right side up at all times since the packaging was not designed to ship with the tonearm installed. Item is located on Bainbridge Island, WASeller has been an audio enthusiast for over 60 years. From building a vacuum tube stereo amplifier in high school right up to using the latest digital devices, I’m pretty dialed in. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!

VPI Industries, founded in 1978 by Harry and Sheila Weisfeld in Cliffwood, New Jersey, emerged from a lifelong audiophile's basement workshop as a quintessential American family enterprise. What began with simple record weights and turntable isolation bases quickly evolved into a benchmark for analog precision, driven by Harry's relentless experimentation and Sheila's steadfast support. By 1981, the HW-16 record cleaning machine marked their first enduring hit, cementing VPI's heritage in the vinyl revival long before it became mainstream.
The brand specializes in high-end turntables, tonearms, phonograph accessories, and record cleaning systems, with iconic models like the TNT, Aries, Scout series, and the Classic 30th Anniversary edition showcasing uncompromising engineering. VPI prioritizes mechanical innovation—unibody designs, advanced platters, and air-bearing arms—over diversification into amplifiers, speakers, DACs, or headphones, maintaining a laser focus on the analog front-end.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, VPI commands respect among discerning audiophiles for delivering reference-grade performance at accessible price points relative to rivals. Now led by Harry's son Mat Weisfeld, the company thrives on its reputation for bulletproof reliability, world-class soundstaging, and U.S.-made craftsmanship, making it a cornerstone choice for serious vinyl enthusiasts seeking timeless excellence.
