The EC 4.7 has a strong reputation as a properly high-end, fully balanced preamp, and A$2,100 looks like a very good ask in today’s used market. New pricing was around A$5,500 back in the day, and the few used comps I’d expect to see tend to land materially higher than this when clean and complete, so this reads as a bargain rather than merely fair.
What makes it worth chasing is the big, open, low-noise presentation Electrocompaniet is known for: excellent drive, smooth tonal balance, and enough authority to slot into serious systems without sounding etched. Excellent condition is a plus, especially at this price; if it includes the remote and original packaging, that’s even better. I’d just confirm all inputs/outputs work and that there’s no channel imbalance or relay noise.
