Offered is „Xtension 9 Evolution (ohne Tonabnehmer)“ by Pro-Ject as second-hand device from the category „Record Player, Tone Arm, System...“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 5022500520 ends on 17.12.2026 at 10:30 o'clock.
Notable for its mass and unusually serious engineering, the Xtension 9 EVO is a substantial step above ordinary mid-market decks. At €1,290 in good condition, this looks like a strong deal rather than merely fair: new European pricing is around €3,299, and the asking price is well below what a clean, complete example would normally command. The value is especially good if the cartridge, dust cover, record puck, original power supply, and phono cable are included.
Its 5.4 kg damped platter, magnetically decoupled feet, inverted ceramic-bearing assembly, electronic speed control, and 9cc Evolution carbon arm make it a quiet, stable, genuinely high-end-capable platform. It is also a friendly match for many moving-magnet and lighter moving-coil cartridges. Before buying, confirm that the platter spins silently, speed changes correctly, the arm bearings feel free of play, and the acrylic cover is intact; otherwise, this is the sort of clean used listing worth moving on promptly.

Pro-Ject Audio Systems traces its roots to 1991 in Austria's Weinviertel region, north of Vienna, where founder Heinz Lichtenegger launched the brand amid the CD revolution. Kicked out of music school as a youth, Lichtenegger channeled his passion for analog sound into affordable, high-quality turntables at a time when vinyl seemed obsolete. His debut Pro-Ject 1, hand-assembled in the Czech Republic, earned rave reviews as a top high-end device, igniting a success story that relocated headquarters to Vienna before returning to Mistelbach in Lower Austria.
The brand excels in turntables, establishing itself as the world's largest and leading producer in that category, while expanding into a full spectrum of hi-fi components since 2000. Offerings include amplifiers, DACs, headphone amps, speakers, cables, and phono stages, all emphasizing essential sound reproduction with durable materials and minimalist design. Manufacturing remains European—primarily in Czechia, Slovakia, and Germany—prioritizing sustainability through local sourcing, short transport, and products built for longevity.
Pro-Ject holds a commanding niche as the go-to for mid-tier audiophiles seeking boutique European craftsmanship without extravagant pricing. Distributed in over 80 countries, it appeals to vinyl revivalists and discerning buyers who value analog purity, innovation, and value-driven performance over flashy excess, cementing its reputation as a pioneer in accessible high-fidelity.
