Seller's Description

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This €250 asking price is a strong bargain, landing well below the 25th percentile of €423 for recent comparable used Sunfire XT EQ listings in the EUR market. With the median sitting at €750 and the top quarter of listings reaching €1,302, you are securing a top-tier subwoofer at roughly one-third of the typical market value. Timing matters here: the XT EQ is a generation older than modern active subs, but that age only explains why this excellent-condition unit is available at such an aggressive price point.

The Sunfire XT EQ 10" is well-regarded for its 2,700W RMS power and dual 10-inch configuration (active woofer plus passive radiator), delivering accurate, room-filling bass that rivals far more expensive systems. Its automatic room equalization and cardioid surround design minimize boomy reflections, making it a standout for both music and movies. At this price, in excellent condition, it’s a rare buying opportunity for an enthusiast who wants high-performance bass without the modern premium—no caveats needed unless the listing hides missing accessories or power issues.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Sunfire Audio

Sunfire was founded in 1972 by legendary audio engineer Bob Carver in the United States. The brand emerged from Carver's unconventional approach to amplifier design, beginning with a graduate-school assignment to simulate earthquakes—a project that sparked decades of innovation in home audio. Headquartered in Petaluma, California, Sunfire is now part of Core Brands, a division of Nortek Technology Solutions that consolidates ten prominent audio and control brands under unified marketing and product development.

The brand has built its reputation primarily around subwoofers and power amplifiers. Sunfire pioneered the concept of true subwoofers in the early 1990s—compact, sealed designs with dramatically increased driver excursion that deliver powerful bass from remarkably small enclosures. The company's signature Tracking Downconverter power supply technology enables high efficiency and low distortion by dynamically matching output to instantaneous demand. Beyond subwoofers, Sunfire manufactures surround-sound processors, in-wall speakers, satellite loudspeaker systems, and premium home theater electronics.

Sunfire occupies the high-end segment of the consumer audio market, positioned for serious audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts willing to invest in performance. The brand's innovations—particularly compact, high-output subwoofers and efficient amplifier designs—have influenced industry standards and remain respected among discerning listeners. While not a household name like some mass-market brands, Sunfire maintains strong credibility within the audiophile community for uncompromising engineering and sonic performance.
