Seller's Description

Black. New in January 2026. In immaculate condition complete with dedicated power supply. Only selling because Trinnov device I have new is easier to set up with internal DAC. Praised in reviews (a British Audiophile and Hans Beekhuysen) and my experience has been very positive. Obviously fully functioning and in as new condition.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At £1,500, this Merason Frerot + POW1 listing is a genuine bargain, sitting just below the 25th percentile of £1,523 from your recent GBP comparable data, while the median stands at £2,112. New pricing for the DAC alone reaches £1,500 to £2,200, and the POW1 power supply adds another £850 to £950, making this combined unit exceptionally well-valued.

The Frerot is celebrated for its musical, late-’90s digital philosophy and robust Swiss metal construction, delivering pristine sound with Burr-Brown PCM1794A chips. Including the POW1 linear power supply—a significant upgrade that enhances stability and tonal purity—this clean, original-owner listing offers rare timing and completeness, presenting a clear buying opportunity for enthusiasts seeking high-fidelity decoding without compromise.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Merason

Merason is a Swiss audio brand founded in 2013 by Daniel Frauchiger, who remains closely associated with the company and its product direction. Its roots are unusual: the first Merason DAC grew out of a DIY project, and that origin still shapes the brand’s engineering-first identity.

Merason is best known for digital audio components, especially DACs and related source gear. The company’s own positioning emphasizes high-quality digital-to-analogue conversion, and the brand is much more associated with converters and supporting power supplies than with broad-category hi-fi products such as speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables.

In the market, Merason sits firmly in the high-end, niche boutique segment. It appeals to serious listeners who value refined, natural-sounding digital playback over mass-market breadth, and its reputation is built more on craftsmanship and musicality than on scale or lifestyle branding.
