Seller's Description

Dynaudio CONTOUR 1.3 Mk11 Standmount Loudspeakers Was ($2200) now reduced to $1980.     Dynaudio Contour 1.3Mk II loudspeakers I have owned thesee from new and are in mint condition. Original dynaudio twin steel pipes with the double top and bottom plates with isolation rubber between th plates are also available if picked up but far too heavy for shipping.   The Dynaudio Contour 1.3 SE is a highly regarded bookshelf speaker known for its detailed, accurate, and dynamic sound reproduction. They offer a smooth, natural presentation and is capable of filling even larger rooms with quality sound.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

A$1,980 is a strong deal against your local comp set: it sits well below the A$6,073 median and just above the A$1,020 25th percentile, so this is priced on the very low end rather than merely “fair.” For a clean like_new pair, that’s the kind of asking price that should get attention fast.

These are highly regarded compact Dynaudios: smooth, refined mids, excellent imaging, and enough scale to make a serious two-channel system feel complete without taking over the room. The upside here is that good-condition vintage Contours are getting harder to find clean, so a tidy example at this number looks like a smart buy rather than a speculative one.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Dynaudio

Dynaudio is a Danish loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1977 in Skanderborg by acoustic engineers Wilfried Ehrenholz and Mark Thorup, alongside co-founder Ivan Scarning Geard. The company emerged from a conviction that off-the-shelf speakers of the era failed to reproduce music authentically. From its inception, Dynaudio has maintained vertical integration, designing and manufacturing its own drivers rather than sourcing components externally—a practice that remains central to the brand's identity and quality control.

The company specializes exclusively in loudspeakers and speaker systems across two primary markets: high-fidelity consumer audio and professional studio monitoring. Dynaudio's consumer division produces reference-grade speakers for discerning listeners, while its professional subsidiary, Dynaudio Acoustics, manufactures studio monitors installed in more than ten thousand recording studios worldwide. The brand has earned particular distinction as a reference monitor choice for BBC Radio & Music, underscoring its credibility in professional environments.

Dynaudio occupies the high-end segment of the audio market, positioning itself among premium manufacturers rather than mass-market producers. The brand's reputation rests on uncompromising engineering philosophy—prioritizing authentic driver design over superficial aesthetics—and consistent innovation in loudspeaker technology. Since its acquisition by Chinese electronics company Goertek in 2014, Dynaudio has maintained its Danish heritage and manufacturing practices while expanding its global reach. For knowledgeable buyers, Dynaudio represents a convergence of Scandinavian design sensibility, technical rigor, and professional-grade performance in the consumer hi-fi space.
