Seller's Description

Unlike every other G-22000 currently listed for sale, this one is one owner/one user with written proof of sole ownership. It is also fully functional and in excellent cosmetic condition. Numerous videos on my You Tube channel will validate that statement. Enter “Sansui G-22000 Vintage Receiver (June 2026)” in the You Tube search bar to find them. The other items in my vintage system are also for sale, including a Kenwood KD-5070 turntable with a rare Stanton 881S/D81S cartridge & stylus - a TEAC X-10R reel deck - a Sanyo RD 5370 cassette deck - and numerous additional items. Operational videos of those items are also posted to my You Tube channel. I’m open to a package deal on one or more of my other items if they’re bought simultaneously with the Sansui units & the speakers. If that’s your desire, message me.This G-22000 has been 100% reliable during the 45 years I’ve owned it. I bought it new and at retail on June 20, 1981. The original purchase receipt (with my name on it) is included in the sale, as are the original boxes, the original owner’s manual, a service manual, and a pair of high-quality RCA cables. In 1990 the power meters stopped working, but everything else continued to operate correctly. The problem was a broken solder connection - a cheap & easy fix. A comprehensive evaluation was completed in 2018 to confirm proper operation in all respects. The service tickets are included in my photo gallery. The only “repair” in 2018 was a pre-amp light bulb replacement (it has not been LED converted.) Those are the only two repairs these units have needed during my 45 years of ownership. Both units are exceptionally clean, including the face plate on the pre-amp. All lights, switches, knobs, dials, inputs, outputs, and pre-amp functions (including the AM/FM tuner) operate correctly - with no static, buzz, hums, pops, tuner-drift, etc. None of the switches and knobs are bent, twisted or otherwise defective. The umbilical cord, plug and socket are all solid & defect free, including the plastic lock ring. The pre-amp has never gone into sustained protection mode, but the protection light flashes for a few seconds on start up, which is normal operation.I assume the automatic fan on the power amp works correctly, but I don’t know that for sure because I have never operated these components in a manner that would cause the fan to come on. What I do know is that at normal listening volumes (including the high side of normal), the fins on the power amp are barely warm after 4-5 hours of continuous operation. The only damage is a ± 2” long defect in the upper left rear corner of the power amp’s cabinet; a couple of small paint chips on the power amp’s cooling fins; and a few small scratches on the pre-amp side panels where the component connections are made. The Synergistic S-70 floor speakers are fully functional and in very good condition. They are 37” tall x 18” wide x 11” deep. Each speaker has two 10” woofers, one 5” mid-range & one 4” tweeter; separate rear-panel adjustment knobs for the tweeter & midrange speakers; and a reset button for overloads. The impedance is 8 ohms with a 200-watt maximum input rating.I replaced the woofer foam gaskets in 2019. While doing so, I discovered that one woofer on each speaker is non-functional because they lack magnets & required wiring. This deception was not disclosed by the manufacturer or retailer, both of whom went out of business years ago. The speakers sound great with just one woofer, but I’m including this “surprise discovery” for purposes of full disclosure.A removable trifold, black cloth grill covers the front & both sides of each speaker. They weigh about 75 pounds each. The original boxes and the original purchase receipt are both included, but the owner’s manual is not included.WarrantyI guarantee that these items will operate correctly on pickup day. If they fail to operate correctly on pickup day, I will cancel the sale and give the buyer $500 in cash to help defray your travel expenses. Once the items leave my property, no warranty of any sort will apply. Instead, the sale becomes “AS IS” pursuant to Universal Commercial Code when the items leave my property. Purchase of these items binds the buyer and seller to the terms and conditions stated herein. Local Pickup OnlyThese items are local pickup only in Galesburg, Michigan. If pickup arrangements are not made within 48 hours following the purchase, the sale will be cancelled.

About Sansui

Sansui, a pioneering Japanese audio brand, traces its origins to 1947 when it was founded in Tokyo by brothers Sakurai and Shunichi Yamamoto. Emerging from post-war Japan, the company quickly established itself as an innovator in consumer electronics, leveraging precision engineering to craft components that rivaled Western counterparts. Its heritage is rooted in the golden era of hi-fi, where Sansui's commitment to sonic purity helped define Japan's rise as a global audio powerhouse.

The brand excelled in a broad spectrum of hi-fi categories, with particular renown for its integrated amplifiers, receivers, and tuners that delivered warm, dynamic sound. Sansui also produced acclaimed speakers, turntables, cassette decks, and later digital converters, emphasizing robust build quality and innovative features like direct-coupled circuitry for low distortion. These products catered to audiophiles seeking balanced performance across analog and early digital domains.

Today, Sansui holds a cherished position in the vintage collector market, revered for its mid-to-high-end gear from the 1970s and 1980s—icons like the AU-series amps remain sought after for their musicality and reliability. While no longer a frontline manufacturer, its legacy endures among discerning buyers restoring classics or hunting timeless performers, blending nostalgia with enduring value.
