Seller's Description

From my private collection:This is one of the best-sounding cartridges I have kept for years.Phasemation PP-1000 MC Phono Cartridge. This cartridge is in very good operational and cosmetic condition, the sound is detailed, fast, and dynamic, stylus still sharp, cantilever and suspension is also in excellent condition. Used under 250 hours.Draw Out a Virtual Feel of Music and the Artist's Passion Carved in the RecordThe Phasemation brand is rooted foremost in cartridge development. The fruits of their research have accumulated since the P1 cartridge release 10 years ago. Even then, Phasemation cartridges had extremely fresh midrange/treble and rich bass, woven together in perfect harmony. In keeping with that legacy, Phasemation proudly released their flagship MC cartridge PP-1000.Redesigning the Magnetic CircuitThe magnetic circuit of P-1G has been reconsidered in full scale; as a result, the shapes of front yoke and pole piece have been redesigned. Therefore, the shapes well suited for efficiency and magnetic uniformity have been successfully realized. It has been realized that the output is increased without increasing the mass of vibration section.Redesigning the Body StructureThe material of P-1 body has been reconsidered from the beginning in order to get the best balance of sound quality. The materials of base and body have been respectively changed to stainless material and duralumin. Furthermore, DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) *1) coating is conducted; thereby, the sound quality being well suited for the rigidity and vibration-damping properties and being also suitable to be a flagship has been realized.*1 DLC(Diamond Like Carbon)is a generic name of carbon film to be produced with vapor phase synthesis utilizing ion processing; and the high rigidity and high electric insulation similar to a diamond are provided for it.Inheriting the High Quality Materials for Audio SoundHigh quality materials for audio sound verified in P-1G and other models are inherited; and they are well-acknowledged until now for the following parts: Cantilever made of pure boron material, Magneto coil, pure iron coil, bobbin and wire damper made of 6N oxygen-free copper wire, and others. Please watch the YouTube videos:Technical SpecificationsPower Generation Method: Moving Coil TypeImpedance: 4 OhmApplicable Stylus Force: 1.7 to 2.0gOutput Voltage: 0.29mV(horizontal direction of 1kHz 50mm/s)Compliance: 8.0X10(e-6)cm/dynePlaying Frequency Range: 10Hz to 30kHzSeparation: 30dB or more (1kHz)Channel Balance: Within 1dB (1kHz)Range of Recommended Temperature 20? to 26?Tare: 14.3gStylus Chip: Diamond(line contact / curvature 0.03×0.003mm)Cantilever: Pure Boron φ0.26Magnet : Samarium Cobalt MagnetMagnetic Circuit Composition Material: PermendurBase: Stainless(Diamond Like Carbon processing)Body Duralumin: (Diamond Like Carbon processing)This cartridge comes with Original box, Specifications, Warranty paper, stylus guard and screws.I have sold a lot of cartridges and got a lot of good feedback, please check them out.And please take a look my other items. Thanks!WayneWayne's Audio

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Should you buy a Phasemation PP-1000 at US$2,700? Yes, this is a strong bargain, sitting well below the typical used market range of US$3,000 to US$3,400, which is roughly 60% of its US$3,800 MSRP. For a moving coil cartridge known for its low impedance and pure iron coil bobbin that delivers an efficient 0.29 mV output, this price is an excellent entry point into a well-regarded Japanese design.

The PP-1000 is highly praised for drawing out a virtual feel of music and artist passion, thanks to its magneto coil and boron cantilever. Its low 4-ohm impedance makes it versatile across preamps, and the clean listing suggests original-owner condition, adding significant value. At US$2,700, this is a clear buying opportunity for enthusiasts seeking high fidelity without the premium cost.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Phazemation

Phasemation traces its roots to 1970, when Kyodo Denshi Systems was founded in Yokohama, Japan, as a precision electronic measurement instrument company. Initially focused on institutional tools like step-up transformers and DACs in the 1990s, it pivoted to high-end audio under the Phase Tech brand, producing cartridges, CD transports, and tube phonostages. In 2010, the company rebranded as Phasemation to expand globally, leveraging decades of engineering expertise to prioritize phase accuracy for lifelike sound reproduction.

The brand specializes in analog-centric high-end components, renowned for its moving coil phono cartridges and exceptional phonostages, such as the modular six-box EA-2000, the two-box EA-550, and the single-chassis EA-320. Its lineup also includes tube amplifiers, preamplifiers, and step-up transformers, all designed to deliver a balanced sound that blends warmth with hyper-detailed resolution, excelling on jazz, classical, acoustic, and vocal tracks.

Phasemation holds a prestigious niche in the high-end market as one of Japan's fastest-growing hi-fi brands, celebrated for meticulous craftsmanship and expansive soundstaging that evokes live performance emotion. Positioned as a boutique leader for discerning vinyl enthusiasts, it commands worldwide acclaim among audiophiles seeking realism over mere technical prowess.
