This is a late-era deck from 1991, so timing matters in the sense that you’re buying a mature, well-sorted cassette design rather than an early, experimental one. At €110, it looks fair-to-good for a clean TD 4400, and if this one is genuinely excellent it’s comfortably in the “worth a look” zone rather than an impulse-buy bargain.
What makes it appealing is the TD 4400’s reputation for wide, flat response, low noise, and low distortion, which is exactly what you want from a good three-head-era-adjacent deck even without a lot of flashy features. If the transport is quiet, heads look healthy, and it plays/records correctly, this is a solid enthusiast buy; I’d just want confirmation that all functions work, since age-related wear is the main variable on a deck this old.
