The Furman IT-Reference 20i is a legendary flagship power conditioner, the only model in Furman’s line delivering balanced AC alongside noise filtering and surge protection. At €1,100, this listing sits just below the 75th percentile (€1,121) of the used market for this product, making it an ambitious but not unreasonable price for a high-end unit in good condition. It is not a bargain, but it reflects fair value for a rare, original-owner piece that retains its top-tier performance.
This is a worthwhile buy because the IT-Ref 20i provides 80+ amps of peak current reserve, four discrete outlet banks, and superior linear noise attenuation (>80 dB up to 1 GHz), making it ideal for serious 20A systems. Its 83-pound chassis and 5-year warranty history add to its durability. With no mentioned caveats and a clean listing, this represents a solid opportunity for an enthusiast seeking genuine high-end power conditioning without overspending on new retail prices.

Furman is a U.S. pro-audio brand founded in 1974 by Jim Furman, with roots in the live-sound and Grateful Dead-era touring scene in Northern California. Its heritage is not in consumer hi-fi components, but in solving the practical problem of clean, reliable AC power for demanding audio systems.
The brand is best known for power conditioners, voltage regulators, surge protection, and related power-management products for studios, broadcast, live sound, and home theater. Furman’s name is most closely associated with rack-mounted AC filtration and protection rather than amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables.
In the market, Furman sits in a specialist, professional-focused niche rather than the high-end audiophile mainstream. It has a long-standing reputation for utility, reliability, and system protection, making it a familiar choice for working engineers and serious home-theater users who want robust power infrastructure more than flashy audio hardware.
