Seller's Description

Eclipse TD 307PA II Bookshelf Loudspeakers Stereo speakers with matching amplifier, in full working order and very good condition. There are multiple small scratches on the speakers, but they don't stand out against the white casing.   The power switch and volume is controlled by turning the chrome part of the amplifier cone. The speakers have a sweet and detailed sound.                                                                                 The power supply is the correct 230V AC to DC 17 Volts / 3 Amps, purchased in Australia. A DC power socket adapter is also supplied.   $25 Postage

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Are you chasing that iconic Eclipse clarity on a desktop budget with this TD307PA II pair at AUD300?

It's a fair ask for the used market—typical clean pairs in Australia trade between AUD250-400, depending on condition and completeness, undercutting new MK3 equivalents that hit AUD600+ per pair. Ex-demo or low-hour units like this often hold value thanks to their fibreglass full-range drivers punching above 80dB sensitivity, but don't overpay if cosmetics are iffy.

Verify the passive radiators are intact (prone to dents from mishandling) and check for the original grille, manual, and Allen keys—replacements are scarce. Test for voice coil rub at volume, as these egg-shaped gems from the late 2000s can fatigue if driven hard without a sub.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Eclipse

Eclipse originated in Japan as a premium car audio brand under Fujitsu Ten (now Denso Ten Limited), headquartered in Kobe. Launched in 1995 with its inaugural car audio series for the domestic market, it quickly gained traction for pioneering innovations like the first aftermarket digital data bus in the 1980s. The brand expanded into navigation and entertainment systems, becoming a key supplier to major automakers while building a legacy in high-fidelity mobile sound.

Shifting from its automotive roots, Eclipse entered the home audio sector in Japan around 2001, later extending to Asia, Europe, and a brief U.S. foray. It specializes in distinctive stand-mounted speakers with a signature tapered, oculus-shaped design, such as the TD series full-range models featuring fibreglass cones, neodymium magnets, and advanced vibration control for wide frequency response and low noise. Recent releases like the TD307MK3 emphasize high-resolution playback, complemented by powered subwoofers and wireless options.

Positioned as a niche boutique in the high-end hi-fi market, Eclipse commands respect among discerning listeners for its Japanese engineering precision and purity of sound. Though it exited the U.S. car audio aftermarket in 2010 amid industry shifts, its home speakers—priced from affordable pairs to $11,200—appeal to modern audiophiles seeking compact, dynamic performers refined in Kobe's facilities.
