Seller's Description

ProAc Tablette 10 Signature (Natural Oak) $3551 @ CMY Audio & Visual The ProAc Tablette range has been in development for almost 40 years. The first speakers in the range were originally released in 1979, and now these 10th generation ProAc Tablette 10 Signature loudspeakers are about to up the game even further. With an all new design, these speakers have been constructed using a thin walled, heavy damped infinite baffle enclosure – the same baffle that was previously used in the BBC LS3/5a. This design method allows the Tablette 10 Signatures to boast an added flexibility in its positioning

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a fair ask, leaning a touch ambitious if it’s only the speakers and no stands or shipping included. New pricing lands around A$3,700–A$4,100 depending on finish, so A$3,551 for a used pair is not a bargain, but it’s close enough to the new-market zone that condition and provenance matter a lot. If it’s mint, boxed, and from a careful owner, it’s defensible.

The upside here is that these are genuinely special little monitors: sealed-box, easy to place, and prized for a big, open midrange with excellent imaging and surprisingly refined treble. They’re at their best on a good stand and with a clean 5–50W amp. Since the asking price is already near new territory, I’d want to see flawless cabinets, original packaging, and confirmation that the drivers are clean and untampered.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About ProAc

ProAc stands for Professional Acoustics, a British loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1979 by Stewart Tyler. The brand emerged from Tyler's earlier venture, Celef Audio, which he established in 1973 to develop compact speakers with extended bass response and refined treble. Based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, ProAc was formally launched after Tyler discovered superior drive units manufactured by ATC, which prompted him to establish a dedicated brand for higher-quality designs. The company relocated to a dedicated factory in Brackley in 1990, where production continues today. Despite Tyler's passing in 2021, ProAc remains a family-run operation committed to his original vision.

ProAc specializes exclusively in loudspeakers across multiple categories, from compact standmount designs to larger floor-standing models. The brand is recognized for its signature product lines, including the Tablette, Response, and K-Series ranges. Their standmount speakers, particularly the Response DB1 and its updated DB1R variant, have achieved particular acclaim for delivering performance that belies their compact dimensions. ProAc's design philosophy emphasizes bespoke drivers, high-quality crossovers, and carefully constructed cabinets engineered for natural sound reproduction.

ProAc occupies the premium segment of the hi-fi market, positioning itself as a high-end specialist rather than a mass-market manufacturer. The brand is known for refusing to compromise on quality, with Tyler famously stating that ProAc does not make cheap speakers or cheap sounds. This commitment to excellence at reasonable prices has earned ProAc a devoted following among audiophiles, sound engineers, and music producers worldwide, establishing it as a respected boutique manufacturer with over five decades of heritage in loudspeaker design.
