Bösendorfer is an Austrian piano maker founded in 1828 in Vienna by Ignaz Bösendorfer. It began as a handcraft workshop and is now widely regarded as one of the most storied names in European piano building, with production still centered near Vienna. The company was acquired by Yamaha in 2008, but Bösendorfer continues to emphasize its own traditional manufacturing identity.

Its product focus is almost entirely acoustic pianos, especially grand pianos and uprights. The brand is not known for mainstream hi-fi electronics such as amplifiers, DACs, turntables, headphones, or cables.
