Christie Digital

1 active listing · Price research →

Christie Digital is a professional AV and cinema technology company, not a traditional hi-fi brand. It traces its roots to 1929 and was founded by S. L. Christie; today it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ushio, Inc. of Japan, with head offices in Cypress, California and engineering heritage in Kitchener, Ontario.

Its core business is large-scale visual systems: digital-cinema projectors, RGB pure-laser projectors, LED video walls, image processing, and installation software for cinemas, themed entertainment, control rooms, education, and live events. Christie’s name is strongly associated with projection and display infrastructure, rather than consumer audio components such as amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables.

In market terms, Christie sits in the specialist B2B, high-performance, premium-projection tier. It has a reputation for innovation and reliability in demanding commercial installs, but it is not a boutique hi-fi or vintage-audio brand in the usual sense, and it does not compete in the home-audio component market.
