Infinity emerged in 1968 from a Woodland Hills, California garage, founded by Arnie Nudell, John Ulrick, and Cary Christie. Driven by Nudell's passion for classical music and innovative engineering, the trio launched with the groundbreaking Servo-Statik speaker system, featuring electrostatic panels paired with a servo-controlled woofer derived from defense technology. This American brand quickly gained traction through pioneering materials like neodymium magnets, mylar diaphragms, and polypropylene cones, establishing a legacy of pushing audio boundaries before acquisitions by Electro Audio Dynamics in 1974 and Harman International in 1983.

The company has long focused on loudspeakers as its hallmark, from early electrostatic hybrids and the iconic Reference and Kappa series to later EMIT and EMIM drivers in the 1970s. While primarily a speaker specialist, Infinity has ventured into home and mobile audio, including amplifiers and systems under Harman ownership, now part of Samsung since 2017. Turntables, DACs, headphones, and cables remain outside its core expertise.
