Krix Loudspeakers was founded in 1974 by Scott Krix in Adelaide, Australia, following his degree in electronic engineering. Beginning in a garage with basic hand tools, the company evolved from crafting bespoke speakers for friends into a globally recognized manufacturer. By 1976, Scott opened The Acoustic Foundry, a hi-fi retail concept that pioneered the "Design Your Own Systems" approach, allowing customers to audition and customize speaker elements. The Home Grown series launched in 1978, establishing Krix's first commercial product line across multiple price points and sizes. Today, the company remains family-owned and operated, with Scott and his brothers Gary and Ashley still active in the business after five decades.
