Miyajima

8 active listings · Price research →

Miyajima is a Japanese high-end audio brand founded in 1980 by Noriyuki Miyajima in Fukuoka, Japan. It began as Miyajima Laboratory, originally an audio store before evolving into a small specialist manufacturer focused on analogue playback.

The brand is best known for its phono cartridges, especially stereo and mono moving-coil designs, and also makes tube preamps, amplifiers, and MC step-up transformers. Its catalogue is strongly centred on vinyl front-end components rather than a broad, full-system range, and there is no strong evidence that it is a major maker of speakers, turntables, DACs, or headphones.

In the market, Miyajima sits firmly in the niche boutique high-end segment, with a reputation built on handcrafted, low-volume production and a very specific analogue philosophy. It is the kind of brand most valued by serious vinyl listeners and collectors who want distinctive, specialist engineering rather than mass-market breadth.
