MUTECH

MUTECH is a Japanese analogue specialist with roots that go back to 1959, when engineer Eiji Kanda began the work that would later become the brand’s cartridge and transformer business. The company is closely associated with Kanda’s long development history in phono technology, and the MUTECH name was formally established much later, in 2012.

The brand is best known for moving-coil phono cartridges and step-up/pressure-rising transformers for turntable playback. Its most visible products are ultra-high-end cartridges such as the Hayabusa and related models, which reflect a strong focus on low-output analogue pickup design rather than a broad consumer-audio lineup.
