Numark

Numark Industries was founded in 1971 in Edison, New Jersey, establishing itself as a pioneering force in DJ equipment manufacturing during the rise of disco. The company emerged from the vision of Harry and Robert Kotovsky and quickly became instrumental in shaping modern DJing culture. In 1992, entrepreneur Jack O'Donnell acquired Numark, catalyzing a transformation that positioned the brand as the world's largest DJ equipment manufacturer—a distinction it maintains today with sales that reportedly double those of its closest competitor.

Numark's product portfolio centers on professional and prosumer DJ equipment, including mixing consoles, turntables, CD players, and digital controllers. The brand has earned recognition for consistent innovation, introducing industry firsts such as the first DJ mixer with a built-in sampler (DM1775), the first professional dual-well CD player (CD-5020), and pioneering virtual turntabling technology for CDs. Their current lineup spans playback controllers, mixing consoles, turntables, headphones, speakers, and microphones—comprehensive tools for DJs across skill levels.

Numark occupies the professional and prosumer segment rather than the high-end audiophile market. The brand targets working DJs and music producers seeking reliable, feature-rich equipment that balances accessibility with performance capability. As part of inMusic Brands' portfolio, Numark maintains global distribution through offices in the US, Japan, South America, the UK, Germany, and Taiwan, supported by a team of product developers who are themselves DJs and musicians. The brand's reputation rests on practical innovation and market leadership within the DJ equipment category.
