Te koop aangeboden bij used products alphen aan den rijn: - bose acoustimass 5 series 2 sub + 2 speakers specificaties: frequentiebereik (systeem): ongeveer 20 hz – 20 khz. Subwoofer bereik: rond 50 h
At €80, this listing sits right at the 75th percentile of the recent EUR market, making it an ambitious but not unreasonable price for a used Bose Acoustimass 5 subwoofer module. It is clearly above the median of €71 and the 25th percentile of €61, so it’s not a bargain, but it reflects a seller who knows the model’s enduring appeal among retro 2.1 fans.
The Acoustimass 5 is well-regarded for delivering big bass in a compact form, especially when paired with its matching Bose cube satellites, which it’s designed to crossover correctly. Its main upside is timing: 90s speaker systems like this are gaining traction as affordable retro gear, and a working unit in decent shape is a solid entry point into compact, high-output home theater. If the listing includes the original cubes or cables, that value becomes even clearer.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
