Shindo preamps have a serious cult following for a reason: they’re about tone, drive, and that big, organic midband that makes vinyl and acoustic music feel alive. At A$26,000 in like_new condition, this feels broadly fair-to-strong for the Australian used market, especially if it’s a complete, well-kept example from a good system. It isn’t a bargain-bin score, but it’s not an obviously ambitious ask either for a rare, high-end Shindo line piece.
The real upside here is longevity of ownership: these are sought after, don’t show up often, and tend to be bought by people who keep them, so clean examples deserve attention. If it’s original, properly boxed, and comes with the right phono/loading setup or any important accessories, that adds real value. I’d focus on confirming service history, valve age, and whether the seller can show it working quietly with no hum or channel imbalance.
