Seller's Description

VAF DC-7 Gen4 MkII Floorstanding Loudspeakers Here for sale is a pair of VAF DC-7 Gen4 MkII speakers in Tasmanian Blackwood finish. Generally in excellent condition, but a few minor marks on the cabinets as can be seen in the pictures. I have add some castors that are removable, and I also have the spikes. These have seen use as home theater mains, and a stereo pair over the years and are truly room filling speakers, even in a large space.   https://web.archive.org/web/20090402122816/http://www.vaf.com.au/detail.asp?audio=dc&grunt=s200r26725   I can deliver within say two(2) hours of Ballarat

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Used VAF DC-7 Gen4 MkII floorstanders typically trade in the AUD used market with a median of AUD598 across recent comparable listings, ranging from a low 25th percentile of AUD224 up to AUD2,025 at the 75th. At AUD600 with unknown condition, this sits right at median value—fair pricing if it's in solid shape, but not a steal without proof of care.

Buyers should insist on close-up photos of the drivers for tears or cone damage, plus a full functional test listening for rattles, buzzes, or imbalance across frequencies—these older VAFs can suffer surround rot from age. Verify original grilles, spikes, and any damping plugs are included, as missing bits ding resale and setup.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About VAF Research

VAF Research was founded in 1978 in Adelaide, Australia, by serial entrepreneur Philip Vafiadis, establishing it as a enduring Australian stalwart in the hi-fi industry. From modest beginnings, the company has remained a private, family-driven operation, steadfastly committed to in-house design and manufacturing. Over four decades, VAF has cultivated a heritage rooted in relentless innovation and a passion for music reproduction, evolving from early breakthroughs in speaker crossovers to sophisticated modern systems.

The brand specializes exclusively in loudspeakers and subwoofers, eschewing amplifiers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables. Its products emphasize natural, uncolored sound through proprietary engineering, such as advanced driver integration and enclosure designs honed over years of research. Standouts like the EVO1 series exemplify this focus, delivering compact yet authoritative performance that prioritizes realism over fleeting trends.

VAF occupies a niche high-end position, revered among discerning Australian audiophiles for its no-compromise approach and value-driven excellence. Far from mainstream hype, it appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking authentic musicality without gimmicks, backed by a reputation for world-class performance at competitive prices. This boutique status ensures enduring appeal in a market favoring substance over spectacle.
