This is a strong deal: at kr 10,000 SEK, it lands far below your kr 16,957 SEK 25th percentile and well under the kr 42,030 SEK median for comparable recent SEK listings. On your own market data, that puts it in clear bargain territory rather than merely “good value.”
That matters because this is a respected old-school floorstander, known for big, layered sound and a presentation that can be especially rewarding with careful setup. If the drivers, cabinets, and crossover are healthy, the upside is substantial at this price; ideally, confirm original parts, working tweeters, and whether any cosmetic or age-related issues are present, but nothing in the asking price suggests you need to be overly suspicious.

Von Schweikert Audio traces its roots to 1975, when founder Albert Von Schweikert began developing speaker designs in Southern California. The company was formally established as Von Schweikert Research in 1993, though Von Schweikert had been building and refining loudspeakers since the late 1970s. Born in Panama to a German father and Spanish mother, Von Schweikert brought an international perspective to acoustic engineering. Following the company's restructuring, it emerged as Von Schweikert Audio and has since become a cornerstone of high-end speaker manufacturing, now led by his son Damon Von Schweikert as President and CEO.
Von Schweikert specializes exclusively in loudspeaker design and manufacturing, positioning itself at the pinnacle of the high-end audio market. The brand is renowned for its proprietary Acoustic Inverse Replication theory—developed in 1980—which informs all speaker designs by decoding out-of-phase ambience signals to recreate spatial dimension. The product lineup ranges from the entry-level UniField series to statement pieces like the Ultra 7 Reference ($180,000 per pair) and the legendary VR-111XS ($750,000), a nine-foot-tall concentric-array hybrid loudspeaker completed in 2015.
Von Schweikert occupies the ultra-premium segment of high-end audio, commanding respect among serious audiophiles and professional studios alike. Albert Von Schweikert's theoretical breakthroughs earned him contracts with Lucas Film THX, Walt Disney, Steinway, and Mobile Fidelity, establishing the brand's credibility in both consumer and professional domains. Today, Von Schweikert Audio represents five decades of acoustic innovation, blending rigorous engineering principles with handcrafted manufacturing to deliver what the company terms "Visceral Fidelity"—a listening experience that transcends conventional hi-fi parameters.
