This is a buyer’s market at this price: €500 sits below the €587 median and between the €409 25th percentile and €758 75th percentile, so it reads as a solid-value listing rather than an aggressive ask. It is not a bargain-bin steal, but it is comfortably on the friendly side of typical market pricing.
That makes it a worthwhile buy if the speakers are genuinely clean and complete. The Ultima 40 line is well-liked for big, easygoing stereo sound with plenty of scale for music and TV, and “excellent” condition matters here because a tidy pair can be a straightforward plug-and-play upgrade. At this level, I’d mainly verify driver condition, grille/cabinet health, and whether stands, spikes, or original accessories are included.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Teufel is a German audio brand with roots in Berlin, where it was founded in 1979 by Carl Teufel. Emerging during the heyday of home hi-fi enthusiasm, the company built its heritage on engineering-driven innovation, initially focusing on custom speaker designs that prioritized precision and dynamic sound reproduction for discerning listeners.
The brand excels in active speakers and soundbars, alongside wireless multi-room systems, headphones, and portable Bluetooth options. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, Teufel emphasizes integrated solutions with built-in amplification and app-controlled streaming, catering to modern home entertainment setups.
Positioned as a mid-tier contender with premium aspirations, Teufel enjoys a strong reputation in Europe for delivering high-value performance—bold bass, spacious imaging, and robust build quality—that punches above its price point. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end excess, holding a solid niche in the competitive consumer audio market.
