This is an older Rotel power amp, so timing matters mainly in the sense that you’re buying a well-regarded late-80s/early-90s design rather than something with modern convenience features. At €265, it’s a touch above the €219 median but still inside the recent €194–€242 middle band by only a modest margin, so this reads as a fair ask rather than a steal or an overreach.
The appeal here is straightforward: Rotel’s RB-series has a good reputation for clean, punchy, no-nonsense drive, and the RB-870BX in particular is a solid 100W-per-channel class of amp that still makes sense if you want reliable vintage muscle.
