Seller's Description

ATC SCM100ASLT LE Floorstanding Loudspeakers I've found something I'd like to try next, so I'm a bit more motivated to consider offers this time around. As the second owner we have enjoyed them for a few years, but it's time for someone else to be delighted and enjoy them!   The previous owner sold them to me with a few marks however they're barely noticeable, never bothered me, and you can easily polish out and touch up. Please come and inspect and see pics. So cosmetically not perfect but they work like a dream and have all the ATC magic you can imagine.   If you email ATC like I did, they w

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a clear buyer’s market for high-end active ATC speakers right now, and the A$22,990 asking price for the used ATC SCM100ASLT LE is a genuine bargain, sitting well below the typical used median of A$25,000–A$30,000 and even under the recent A$22,000 listing for the same model. You’re getting these flagship 3-way active speakers at roughly 45% of their A$50,000 MSRP, which is an exceptional entry point for a product renowned for its furniture-grade walnut finish, 350 watts of fully discrete Class AB tri-amplification per speaker, and stunning low-frequency extension down to 32Hz.

The SCM100ASLT LE is well-regarded for its analog-only, DSP-free design that delivers 115dB max SPL with coherent horizontal dispersion and a frequency response of 32Hz–25kHz, making it ideal for both music and home theater. Its 8kg (150 lbs) per speaker build, 6-year warranty heritage, and included fabric grills and stand spikes add significant value, while the LE finish suggests original-owner care. With no common failure points specific to this model and a clean listing at this price, it’s a timely buying opportunity for an enthusiast seeking top-tier active performance without the new-speaker premium.

About ATC

ATC (Acoustic Transducer Company), a British engineering powerhouse, was founded in 1974 by innovative loudspeaker designer Billy Woodman. Initially focused on crafting custom drive units for the professional audio sector, the company quickly gained acclaim with its 12-inch PA75-314 driver, renowned for superior power handling and minimal distortion at high sound pressure levels. In 1976, ATC introduced the groundbreaking SM75-150 soft dome midrange driver, revolutionizing dispersion, bandwidth, and clarity in studio monitors.

The brand specializes in high-precision loudspeakers, designing and manufacturing its own drivers—including tweeters, midrange, and bass units—in-house for both professional and home applications. Its SCM series offers a spectrum from compact models like the SCM7 to larger formats, available in active and passive configurations. ATC also produces standalone electronics, such as preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and integrated amps like the SIA2-150, all built to uncompromising standards of accuracy and reliability.

ATC commands a elite position in the high-end hi-fi market, revered by recording studios worldwide for its transparent, detail-revealing monitors and by discerning audiophiles for domestic speakers that deliver reference-grade performance. A professional ethos, advanced materials, and innovations like the Super Linear Driver—slashing distortion in the vocal range—cement its status as a boutique leader, where precision engineering trumps mass production.
