Seller's Description

Adelaide Speakers (Ascension) Artisan A1093SQTL Floorstanding Loudspeakers I am reluctantly selling these wonderful Ascension Artisan A1093SQTL transmission line speakers. I have owned them for about 5 years and cannot praise these speakers enough. They have a beautiful sound with good bass extension, rich midrange and clear highs. I am only selling them due to a major speaker upgrade. Price negotiable as I need to fund my new purchase.   These are in excellent condition with the only minor issue being some darkening of the front veneer below the speaker grills (see photos).   I can demonstrat

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Is this the sort of big, high-efficiency transmission-line floorstander you’ve been waiting for? At A$1,700 in excellent condition, this looks like a fair-to-good used price rather than a bargain-basement steal, but it’s reasonable for a respected Australian-built speaker of this size and calibre. For the right buyer, it’s solid value if the finish and drivers are genuinely clean.

What makes these appealing is the combination of scale, bass extension, and easy driveability: they’re known for a rich midrange, clear top end, and the kind of full-bodied presentation that suits both valves and good solid-state amps. The fact that these are from an enthusiast-owned local brand also helps on serviceability and community knowledge. If you can inspect for veneer fade, driver health, and confirm the speakers are original and complete, this is a worthwhile buy.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Adelaide Speakers

Adelaide Speakers is an obscure Australian hi-fi brand with limited verifiable public information available. While South Australia, particularly Adelaide, has earned a reputation as a hub for high-quality speaker manufacturing—home to established names like Krix (founded in 1974 by electronic engineer Tony Krix), VAF Research (established in 1978 by Philip Vafiadis), and Kyron Audio—no confirmed details emerge on Adelaide Speakers' founding year, specific founder, or precise heritage beyond its base in the region. A website claims it develops hi-fi and home theatre speakers in South Australia to high standards of sound reproduction, accessible across budgets, but lacks deeper historical or biographical substantiation.

The brand appears focused exclusively on speakers for hi-fi and home theatre applications, emphasizing precise sound reproduction without mention of amplifiers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables in available sources. This aligns with Adelaide's broader ecosystem of speaker-centric firms producing systems for discerning home cinema and music listeners.

In the market, Adelaide Speakers occupies a niche boutique position among South Australia's audiophile-grade offerings, listed alongside premium marques in enthusiast compilations, though it remains lesser-known compared to Krix's cinema dominance or VAF's handbuilt legacy. Its emphasis on quality at varied price points suggests appeal to knowledgeable buyers seeking local engineering excellence, but without robust reviews or sales data, its reputation stays unproven.
