Seller's Description

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At €1,700, this is well above the usual used-market center for this kind of listing and sits clearly on the ambitious side versus the €160 median and €340 75th percentile in your database.

That said, the appeal here is the condition and the fact it’s presented as a tidy, ready-to-enjoy package rather than a project. If the speakers and amp are genuinely excellent and the set includes original boxes, remotes, and proof of careful ownership, the premium is easier to justify; if not, the price needs a strong story because buyers can usually assemble very good used separates for less.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Canton

Canton traces its roots to 1972, when four hi-fi enthusiasts—Hubert Milbers, Otfried Sandig, Wolfgang Seitkritt, and Günther Seitz—founded the company in the small German town of Weilrod, near Frankfurt. Registering the name as a blend of the Latin "cantare" (to sing) and German "Ton" (musical tone), they began operations in a repurposed village schoolhouse with 35 employees assembling speaker enclosures. Still family-owned and led by descendants like Günther Seitz, Canton embodies enduring German engineering precision, manufacturing primarily in Niederlauken and Weilrod.

The brand focuses squarely on loudspeakers, offering over 300 models across 12 series tailored to diverse budgets, room sizes, and applications—from compact bookshelf designs and the pioneering 1979 sub/sat system to high-end Reference lines and wireless innovations. While speakers dominate, Canton also produces complementary hi-fi components, blending traditional cabinetry with digital amplification advancements, all subjected to rigorous quality controls.

Positioned as a mid-to-high-end mainstay in the global hi-fi market, Canton commands respect for its "pure music" philosophy, exporting to 53 countries with a reputation for reliable, elegant performance that appeals to discerning buyers seeking value without compromise. Independent of corporate conglomerates, it remains a smart, appreciating investment for audiophiles valuing Made-in-Germany craftsmanship.
