US$1,750 is ambitious versus the recent market: it sits above the US$1,625 75th percentile and well over the US$1,400 median, so this is not a bargain unless the condition is unusually strong or the package is especially complete. It’s still in the right orbit for a desirable piece, but buyers should expect a premium rather than a value play.
That premium only makes sense if it’s clean, fully working, and comes with the remote and any original extras, because the MX132 is valued for its classic McIntosh build, solid surround processing, and surprisingly good two-channel performance for a vintage AV control center. If the listing is truly tidy and well documented, it can still be worth pursuing; if not, there’s enough supply around the mid-US$1,000s to keep shopping.

McIntosh Laboratory, founded in 1949 in the United States by Frank H. McIntosh and Gordon Gow, embodies a storied heritage of American audio innovation. Originally based in Silver Spring, Maryland, before relocating to Binghamton, New York, where products are still handcrafted today, the brand emerged from a commitment to superior sound reproduction.
