Offered is „Prophecy 1 Natural Walnut exdemo Kundenruckläufe“ by PMC as exhibit from the category „Bookshelf Speaker“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 6970536363 ends on 21.11.2026 at 14:00 o'clock.
Against a similar new-ish standmount at this money, this looks like a strong buy: €2,299 sits well under the recent used median of €3,918 and even below the €3,436 25th percentile, so it reads as a genuine bargain rather than a merely fair ask. For a speaker that launched around €3,490–€3,800 new, that’s a meaningful discount.
The appeal here is easy to understand: these are widely praised for unusually deep, tight bass for a compact speaker, plus the clarity, imaging, and rhythmic grip PMC does so well. They also want quality amplification and careful placement, so they’re best for buyers who can give them proper partnering gear and room setup. At this price, a clean pair in good condition is exactly the kind of used listing worth jumping on.

PMC, the Professional Monitor Company, was founded in 1991 in the UK by Peter Thomas, a BBC engineer, and Adrian Loader, an acoustics specialist from FWO Bauch. Dissatisfied with existing studio monitors that couldn't balance high-volume pop and rock playback with ultra-high resolution, they developed transmission line technology, debuting the BB5-A active monitor. This breakthrough quickly won over prestigious clients like the BBC's Maida Vale Studios, Metropolis Mastering, and artists including Prince and Stevie Wonder, establishing PMC's heritage in precision audio engineering.
The brand focuses primarily on loudspeakers, renowned for their advanced transmission line designs that deliver uncolored, natural sound across professional and domestic applications. From compact home models like the LB1 to high-end studio references and Dolby Atmos systems, PMC's hand-built UK products dominate mastering houses, broadcasters, and home hi-fi setups. They emphasize matched components, rigorous testing, and cabinet integrity to preserve the artist's intent without compromise.
PMC holds a commanding position in the high-end market, bridging pro audio and discerning home listeners with studio-grade accuracy. As an independent British icon, it monopolizes elite facilities worldwide—from Capitol Studios to Universal Music Group—and earns accolades like membership in Germany's High End Society, appealing to audiophiles who demand reference-level transparency and emotional depth.
