Offered is „A 5 mit Frontgitter“ by Magico as exhibit from the category „Standing Speaker“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 390756695 ends on 22.12.2026 at 06:16 o'clock.
New, this speaker was far more expensive; at €24,900, the ask is above the recent used cluster for this market but not wildly out of line for a premium Magico in good condition. Against your own comps, it sits clearly above the €20,437 75th percentile and roughly €7,100 over the €17,760 median, so I’d call it ambitious rather than a bargain.
That said, the A5 is a serious statement floorstander: dense build, very low coloration, excellent bass control, and the sort of resolution and neutrality that can anchor a top-tier system for years. If the cabinet, drivers, and finish are genuinely clean and the sale includes the original packaging, spikes, and paperwork, the premium is easier to justify; if not, there’s not much margin here for a quick-flip buy.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Magico, a pinnacle of American high-end audio engineering, traces its origins to 1994 in Berkeley, California, where founder Alon Wolf pioneered the use of aluminum enclosures for loudspeakers. Drawing from aerospace and automotive construction principles, Wolf's vision emphasized rigid, non-resonant cabinets to achieve unprecedented transparency and accuracy in sound reproduction. The company consolidated operations in 2013 into a expansive 20,000-square-foot facility in Hayward, later expanding to 30,000 square feet, solidifying its commitment to in-house craftsmanship by a team of specialized machinists and technicians.
Magico specializes exclusively in loudspeakers, eschewing amplifiers, DACs, turntables, headphones, or cables to focus relentlessly on driver technology, enclosure design, and material science. Their products feature intricate internal frameworks that minimize vibrations, delivering reference-level dynamics and imaging prized by audiophiles seeking uncolored musical truth.
Positioned firmly in the ultra-high-end market, Magico commands reverence among discerning buyers for its technological vanguardism and consistent critical acclaim. Enthusiastic owners and a legacy of innovation ensure its stature as a boutique leader, where every speaker embodies precision engineering tailored for the ultimate listening experience.
